To keep the body in good health is a duty, otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear.

I can't imagine how I'd feel if I didn't come to see Monica.
I am very fortunate to have found Monica, who is not only therapeutic with her marvelous hands, but with her whole persona. She is wise about discerning not only what the body needs, but the spirit too. We have become friends: I benefit from her fine sense of humor, her love of art and life, her keen mind and her wide-ranging interests. Sometimes we talk a lot, sometimes we are very quiet. It is always a wonderful experience. She is an exceptional care-giver. Thank you, Monica!
I am a three-time ironman and ten-time marathoner. I could not have done that without Monica. When I first went to Monica 20 years ago I wore two knee braces when running and had pain in my shoulders when swimming short distances. Fortunately, my issues were muscular and with Monica's ministrations I now run and swim pain-free and brace-free. When not training, I'm a dentist, which is a physically stressful occupation with many repetitive motions in awkward postures. Monica has kept me flexible and treated my various strains and pulls so that I've never missed a days work.
Over the years I've referred many of my patients that suffer from TMJ pain to Monica with fantastic results. TMJ pain is often due to muscle spasm and Monica has given been able to provide significant relief and improvement for these patients. Over the years she has taken courses and developed stretches to help this common problem. I have always received fantastic feedback and thanks from the many friends, family and patients that Monica had treated over the years.
Monica has taken care of my body for about 2 years now. I have had a lot of bodywork over the years. I work long hours and as a physician I have spent most of my life in my brain and not thinking about my body. Monica Valenti has simply been the most outstanding massage therapist for me and my needs. She combines a extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology, with a deep intuition about pain, relaxation, tension, and release. She also has captured that other sense that has no exact words to describe and may sound hokey but she is able to intuit where I am on the table and what I need in the moment to recover. Every treatment is different and I'm not exactly sure why but her hands seem to be on a mission for healing and recovery whenever I lie on her table. It is a great experience. It is a unique experience. It is a deep experience. She takes bodywork to its most fundamental place, which is ultimately restorative to both my body and my mind.
Monica Valenti is simply the best. I've had various physical issues during the years I've been going to her, and she has customized the massage therapy in an amazingly beneficial way every time. Unlike most massage therapists I've seen, she always starts by asking what's going on with my body, and if there are any special concerns, and then gives useful advice on how to address my concerns, in addition to a fantastically healing and relaxing massage. I always leave her office liquefied, or cooked, as she likes to say, (that's a good thing — reeeeally good). Not only do I feel great, but I find I am able to perform (I play the trumpet) better after her treatments, as I am loosened up, relaxed, and more able to focus on making music. Breathing properly and efficiently even seems to come easier.
Most of my aches and pains and tightness have come from problems with my performance posture, tightness in my jaw, and often from the rigors of traveling, and she's tops at sussing out the best treatments, no matter what I walk in with. For instance, I had issues healing properly after having had shoulder surgery, and she was a great help in getting me through a difficult time. The physical therapist I was seeing was just not enough.
I can't recommend Monica enough. Not only is she a Zen master of massage, but she also clearly cares deeply about all of her clients.
Monica is a treasure! She is a smart, compassionate and eminently thoughtful practitioner. Each session, she first listens to what I say about how I'm feeling and then she listens to my body. Her willingness to find new pathways always impresses me. As someone who teaches yoga and uses sound in postures, I once asked Monica about the use of sound in bodywork. She suggested we try humming through the tight spots — and to our delight we found it a terrific way into softening the body! As someone who has a history of chronic pain, I feel very lucky indeed to have found Monica.
I met Monica Valenti ten years ago when my lower back went out of whack. I could barely walk. After one treatment and very sound advice for the future about how to avoid the same thing happening my back was much improved. I have been going to her once a month ever since and I can honestly say that I've never had such a severe back problem ever again.
Monica's approach is holistic. Not only is her deep massage extremely helpful to areas that might be tight or in pain, but it generally gets the juices flowing. She is able to not only do her job well as a massage therapist, but she brings her added sensitivity, empathy and perception of people to the table.
Most people who have had a massage will know that if you're confident with the person you're not just discussing the pains in your body but more the pains in your heart and in your head. She's a pro at all of them — I value her as a healer, an incredibly knowledgeable person in her profession and now a good friend too. I've recommended her to many, many people and will continue to do so.
Monica Valenti's massage work has changed my life. Not only does Monica knead out the aches and pains in my neck, shoulders, and back, she advises me on changes I can make on my own, which supplement the work she does in her office. I leave my appointments with her re-vitalized — not only with my body feeling unlocked and relaxed, but in addition with ideas of what I can do on my own. Her homework ideas have ranged from the use of a rubber ball in a sock for my neck and shoulders, to meditation tapes to help me to center, to yoga practice which is now part of my daily life.
Monica Valenti is an amazing massage therapist, wellness counselor and friend, and I give her the highest approval rating possible!
Monica Valenti is one of the most gifted and caring massage therapists I know. She goes above and beyond in her sessions. Monica addresses the client's main issue, as well as the whole body in a balanced and comprehensive way. This holistic approach is essential for true health and healing. I have referred my acupuncture clients to Monica for close to twenty years. I am also a client of Monica's. Her massage will continue to be part of my self-care and healing therapy.
Motion is the engine for creative thinking, acting, and being. Monica Valenti has kept me in ‘motion’ for over 20 years.
Monica is a master healer. She listens well and then tailors her treatment to your needs. The enormous benefit of a massage by Monica is grounded in her years of study and 30 years of hands-on work. You won’t find a better or more inspired massage therapist anywhere.
I've known Monica for over 15 years and I feel so grateful to call her my friend, my healer and my teacher. She is a woman who has an inspiring wonder and curiosity about what makes people tick, a fantastic intuitive nature and an impressive knowledge surrounding the mind-body-spirit connection. She is also someone whose intellect and sense of humor I value immensely.
I can call her to address physical issues that are difficult for me to reach -- both literally and figuratively -- and in a very nurturing way, Monica helps me revise movements and postures that are no longer supporting me. She draws from a wealth of knowledge when suggesting ways for me to sustain my refined alignment. All this is done without judgement, but with the utmost empathy, creativity, loving kindness and compassion. She is one of the most skilled manual therapists I know.
To anyone seeking to cut a path through acute or chronic physical issues, stuck emotions or who would like to explore spirit as a way to restore optimal function and health, I entrust them to Monica without equivocation.
Wonderful, careful, attentive. You will feel refreshed, invigorated and happy after she works with you.
Busy professionals need massages. But they don't need just any massage that can be had in a nail salon, they need a "MONICA." I say this frankly: Monica Valenti is the ultimate healer of one's mind, body and spirit. Not only is she a high-level professional and expert in body work, she is a healer - she understands how to unleash the stresses and pain that the body holds, and releases them. When your session ends, you only wish that she had a magic carpet to float you home on! Monica is also a warm, funny, compassionate soul who genuinely cares about her clients. My husband and I look at being able to have a "Monica" as a luxury and as a necessity! I highly recommend her.
